For most people, Kurdistan and Iraq is probably not going to be a place they would seek to travel to but it’s posts like this one which voorstelling the human side to these destinations that will hopefully inspire people to visit. After Saddam Hussein was removed from power in 2003, Slemani has seen a huge economic boom.
Kirkuk blijft ons belangrijke plaats daar waar verscheidene partijen teneinde vechten. Nadat de Koerden in 2014 de stad uit handen betreffende IS weten te oplopen, verovert het Iraakse leger Kirkuk in 2017 wederom retour.
Is very safe. People need distinguish political danger from bandit country. I found it more Gorani modern, tidier with better services than most eastern European capitals. Wish I could put up a few pictures.
Most of the Gorani people belong to the Islamic religion. There kan zijn a Melami dervish lodge in the Brod village ofwel the Gora region, and there are believers who belong to this sect.
Rawanduz, a mesmerizing destination in the stunning landscapes ofwel Iraqi Kurdistan is probably my favorite spot in Iraqi Kurdistan. I highly recommend to visit this place! (But as always in Iraqi Kurdistan, go with someone that knows the area, either a local or a guide.)
